In this tutorials we will be creating a Universal Unique IDentifier (UUID) pool. The UUID is a unique number that is assigned to each blade server. This pool will then be used to assign to a Service Profile later on.

1. Log into Cisco UCS Manager and click on the Servers tab – Pools – UUID Suffix Pools. Right click on UUID Suffix Pools and select Create UUID Suffix Pool. Enter a name and description and make sure derived is selected. Derived means that the system creates the UUID suffix. Other lets you manually enter the desired suffix. Click Next.

2. Click Add to add UUID blocks.

3. Enter in the UUID suffixes that you wish to create and the amount or size. Click Ok.

4. The UUID block is now in the pool of usable UUID suffixes. Click Finish.
