This tutorial will guide you through creating a maintenance policy that will be applied to a service profile and assigned to your Cisco UCS blades.

1. Log into Cisco UCS Manager and click on the Servers tab – Policies – Maintenance Policies. Right click Maintenance Policies and select Create Maintenance Policy. Give the maintenance policy a Name and Description. Reboot policy options indicate what will be used when a change is made to a service profile that requires a reboot of the Cisco UCS server. Immediate will reboot immediately, user-ack the user needs to acknowledge and then a reboot is initiated, timer-automatic reboots are done as per the maintenance time frame that you can set. Click Ok to complete the policy.
