I wanted to write this post in regards to anyone currently using or admins that are about to use Microsoft Windows Servers or workstations with multiple ip addresses and how Windows will determine your preferred source address.
Two new Tutorials are now available for Microsoft and Cisco. The Microsoft tutorial covers the best way to find the 5 FSMO roles using ntdsutil and netdom. The Cisco tutorial involves a Cisco Nexus 5000 CLI Pocket Guide for Reference that I will constantly add too.
This tutorial follows on from the Microsoft Windows Clustering Tutorials. Where we created a Windows Failover Cluster between 2 servers. Now we run through the installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 in Cluster Setup Mode.
I’ve just completed a Preview Tutorial on the new Windows Server 8. In this tutorial I will run you through the installation of Windows Server 8, followed by a quick look at the new graphics of Task Manager. We will then install the Active Directory Domain Services Roles and promote the server to become a Domain Controller

A new addition to the Windows Clustering Tutorials is how to add Volume Mount Points to a Windows Failover Cluster. In this tutorial I run through creating the root volume mount point and two additional mount points.
Along with the Forefront Threat Management Gateway Tutorials today, I have also managed to write up a tutorial on setting up and configuring Windows Failover Clustering for Server 2008 R2. Please follow the lab setup diagram when working your way through the tutorial.
